Catholic Childrens Society Making tomorrow a brighter day

How we're keeping families together

Food is not the only thing that's fast these days.

There's hardly enough time for the things that really matter, like a loving family.

Stressed out by the pressures of work and the consumer lifestyle, there's a big temptation to give children what they allegedly want and plonk them in front of the TV rather than spending time together.

Teachers are often the first to pick up when something's not right in the home. An increasing number of primary and secondary schools are making use of our schools counselling service. Our distinctive approach is to build a trusting relationship with the child, rather than just tackle the symptoms.

Our adoption services are keeping families together in very special ways. We offer comprehensive post-adoption care and support to adopter parents and to people who have been adopted or cared for by the Society.

Our community centres provide accessible services for young families, and provide care which is personal and unbureaucratic. The re-opening of the Bird in Bush Centre in Peckham this Spring confirms our commitment to working in the community, addressing the problems which cause harm before they require crisis level intervention.

We can only do this with your help. Your support is vital if we are to make tomorrow a brighter day for all these people in need of our help.
